2 — The Problem

Strong service, reviews and reputation but a silent phone.

Sweetpea Space is a highly-rated, eco-friendly cleaning company covering domestic, deep/end-of-tenancy, and commercial cleaning across Leeds. For the first four months tracked, Google Business Profile calls were flat at almost zero. The offer was right, the visibility wasn't there.

Starting challenges

✕ Google Business Profile calls flat at almost zero for the first four months tracked

✕ Profile not structured around the target keyword "cleaning business in Leeds"

✕ Organic visibility thin, averaging position ~29.5 — page 3, effectively invisible

3 — What We Found

The GBP wasn't built around how people actually search.

The profile existed but wasn't structured around the target keyword "cleaning business in Leeds" or its core services. Organic visibility was thin too, averaging position ~29.5 in search: page 3, effectively invisible.

Visibility was the bottleneck

The business already had a strong offer, reviews and reputation. The missing piece was a profile and website structure aligned with local search intent.

7 — What Made This Campaign Work

What made this campaign work

✓ 01

Competitor analysis finds the fastest wins

The GBP name insight came from auditing what top-ranked competitors were actually doing. Deep analysis before execution consistently uncovers the highest-leverage opportunities first.

✓ 02

The GBP name is a ranking signal, not just a label

Adding a keyword to the GBP name gives Google an explicit relevance signal. When done naturally by embedding the service category, it is one of the most impactful changes available in local SEO.

✓ 03

One insight plus consistent execution compounds

The name update opened the door. Consistent weekly content, images, posts, and citations over 12 months turned an early ranking lift into a dominant and defensible position in the local pack.

✓ 04

AI visibility is earned through local authority

Being cited in Google AI Overview was not a separate tactic. It came directly from building the profile authority, keyword relevance, and review signals that AI systems use to identify trusted local providers.

✓ 05

GBP and website work feed each other

GBP optimization drives map pack rankings. Website SEO drives organic clicks and domain authority that reinforces local rankings. The two channels compound each other when run in parallel.

✓ 06

Local SEO takes time and then compounds

Call volume growth from 2 to 26 built steadily over 12 months of consistent signals. The earlier you start building local authority, the earlier compounding results begin to show up.
